Learning About Insurance
When you come to Wilmington Kids Dentist, please know that our office does not determine which benefits you receive from your insurance company. Insurance companies have their own policies, set their own schedules, and they determine which fees they deem acceptable. Wilmington Kids Dentist will file claims on your behalf in order to save you time and hassle.
By law, insurance companies are required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt. At Wilmington Kids Dentist, all of our insurance claims are filed electronically, so your insurance company will receive the claim within a few days of treatment. We will collect from you whatever your insurance company is not expected to pay during your appointment. If your insurance company does not pay the claim after 30 days, you are financially responsible. We are more than happy to refund you once your insurance company has reimbursed us.
It is important to remember that insurance does not always cover 100% of the cost of all procedures. Most of the time, insurance will only cover about 50%-80% of the total fee. We will provide the expected out-of-pocket costs when your child’s treatment plan is reviewed with you.
